The process to obtain Polish citizenship can take anything from 4 months up to a year. The quicker we gather the supporting documentation, the quicker will be the process.

Polish passports allow their owners to go to 163 countries without a visa or with a visa granted on arrival. You can also reside, work and do business in any state in the EU. Finally, the Polish legislation allows having two citizenships – of Poland and of another state.

The documents required depend on the individual case, but in general the below documents are required:

    1. An application form filled in in Polish and signed by the applicant
    2. Copies of passports/ID documents
    3. Birth and marriage certificates
    4. Supporting documentation confirming your Polish ancestry, such as naturalisation certificates, birth records, military records, old Polish passports

  3. The preparation and submission of an application for confirmation of Polish citizenship.
  4. Registration of birth and, if applicable, of marriage certificate in Poland
  5. Application to receive a PESEL number (a Polish ID number)
  6. Submitting a Polish passport application.
